Ukraine Crisis: Russia sends more troops, takes more Crimea border posts
The Russian invasion of Ukraine, while it is opposed by some, is not without some support within Ukraine. Some people believe that since Ukraine was once a part of Russia, they have a right to reclaim it because it has been a part of Russia for longer than it has been its own nation. obviously Russia wants it not only because they believe it belongs to them but also because its geographic location and specifically for the Crimean peninsula which allows them access to the black sea. Foreign countries like the U.S. and some members of the European Union are siding with the Ukrainians opposing Russian rule and are threatening to impose sanctions if Russia continues to advance on the Crimean peninsula.
